Barnstable Award for Cape Abilities & Centerville Pie

Kristin Broadley and Laurie Bowen, owners of Centerville Pie Co. and Larry Thayer and Cape Abilities received the prestigious Barnstable Award from the Town of Barnstable in April.

The award recognizes the “power of partnerships” – especially Centerville Pie Company’s support for Cape Abilities. Centerville Pie established a pie kitchen at Cape Abilities that employs people with disabilities and they donate 5% of their profits to Cape Abilities.

Centerville Pie Co. received national attentions from Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King for their pies in 2009. The pie ladies and Cape Abilities were featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show in September, 2010 and Oprah mentioned the pie ladies in her final show on May25, 2011 (watch the brief video).  To learn more, visit www.CentervillePies.com
