Growing Tomatoes at Cape Abilities Farm
At Cape Abilities Farm, our mission is to grow high quality local produce and to provide jobs for Cape Codders with disabilities in all aspects of farm management.
Cape Abilities operates a farm with greenhouses and a farm stand at 458 Route 6 A in Dennis. The farm has attracted a local following of people who crave high quality, locally grown produce and plants.
The farm workers plant the seeds, make the “tomahawks” ( heavy strings used to train the plants), harvest and package the tomatoes. We grow the tomatoes using 2 different hydroponic techniques: with micro mix seed composites and individual planting in beto buckets.
Besides being sold at the farm stand, these award winning tomatoes are also featured on the menus of some of Cape Cod’s finest restaurants.
However, Cape Abilities farm grows much more than tomatoes, herbs, vegetables, and beautiful annuals and perennials. Cape Abilities Farm grows futures.
