The Singing Trooper
Dan Clark, “The Singing Trooper,” performed a wonderful benefit concert for Cape Abilities on Sunday, Nov. 6 at Nauset Regional High School in Eastham.
His show was a hit from start to finish, moving the audience from laughter to tears with a varied program that included patriotic songs, Irish tunes, ballads and show numbers. “Impossible Dream,” “American Soldier” and “Proud to be an American” were among the songs he covered; a truly diverse performer, he threw in an Elvis number and an Irish dance tune. He dedicated the classic “Danny Boy” to the late Chris Nickerson, who was a Cape Abilities participant and whose sister, Janice Nickerson, serves on the Cape Abilities Board of Directors and organized the concert.
A big thank you to our sponsors: Arnold’s Restaurant, Ben & Jerry’s of North Eastham, Cape Associates, Cape Cod Broadcasting, Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank, the Cape Cod Times, Eastham Hardware, the Eastham Superette, Fairway Restaurant, the Gift Barn and Nickerson Service Center.
