Our current volunteer opportunities include:
Volunteer Position: Farm and Farm Market Assistants
Come join us at the Farm! We need volunteers to help in various positions: Greenhouse, Garden Center, Retail Store and Special Events
We are looking for some friendly, outgoing volunteers to be part of the fun, hardworking team at the Farm and the Farm store. We have positions open in Dennis and in Chatham.
Must be 18 years of age or older to apply
Volunteer Direct Care Assistant
Support our Day Habilitation & Community Based Day Supports programs in Hyannis, Eastham, and Falmouth. Provide assistance for both on and off site activities including; life skills, cooking, exercise, music, art, and community activities.
Must be 18 years of age or older to apply
Volunteer Companion
Be a companion to an individual at one of Cape Abilities’ residential homes located in Brewster, Hyannis, Barnstable, Centerville, Yarmouth, Harwich, Orleans and Sandwich.

Volunteer Thrift Shop Assistant
Our Thrift Shop needs volunteers to help in these three areas:
- Weekend Shop Assistant
- Help out in the shop with sales and cashiering
- Social Media Volunteer
- Use your smartphone skills to promote new products in the shop

Ambassador/Greeter at the Cape Abilities Sensory Film Screenings
Bring your friendly smile and join us every third Saturday of the month at the Chatham Orpheum Theater. Greet people and share our mission with all movie attendees. Bring a guest and stay and watch the movie for free!

Administrative Volunteer at the Lyndon Center in Hyannis
Help the Lyndon Center staff with a variety of clerical tasks, including: answering the phone and greeting at the front desk, filing, scanning documents, data entry, preparing mailers.

Achieving Service Enterprise certification is a very prestigious accomplishment for an organization. Certification signifies that organizations have the capability and management expertise to strategically use volunteers to improve the performance of their organization! In addition, we are pleased to announce that Cape Abilities was recognized at the 2019 Massachusetts Conference on Volunteerism for implementing a volunteer engagement model called the Service Enterprise Initiative (SEI). Our volunteer program is active and thriving, and we hope you will consider joining this very special community, no matter how much time you can give. Fun and flexible volunteer opportunities range from regular weekly assignments to one-time special events, on a schedule that works best for you.
There are unlimited opportunities to make a difference when you volunteer at Cape Abilities. Share your skills and your hobbies with a specific volunteer position that assists our businesses, or you can help our participants in our day habilitation programs learn to garden, cook, paint, take photos or use a computer.
