ADMINISTRATION

Development Officer

Full Time 40 Hours

Cape Abilities, Inc. seeks a Development Officer, a newly-created, full-time, position responsible for successfully coordinating, implementing and completing this $2.5 million capital campaign. As a key member of the Development Department, the Development Officer will work closely and collaboratively with the Capital Campaign Committee, the President & CEO, Director of Development, Board of Directors, and appropriate Cape Abilities staff to develop and successfully implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy and plan to accomplish the goals of the Changing Lives… Growing Futures Capital Campaign.

Requirements; Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years of professional experience in fundraising with a track record of success.  Familiar with non-profit setting and experience managing capital campaigns. Direct development experience including solicitation skills and experience in scheduling and staffing solicitation calls and conducting follow up and stewardship.  Demonstrated success in managing complex projects.  Ability to work independently and cooperatively and excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills, capable of working effectively with board members, staff members, volunteers, and donor/prospects.

The Individual Supports Professional provides instruction, support, and serves as a positive role model to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, acquired brain injury or other unique challenges. ISPs are expected to facilitate the development of the individual program participant’s independent living, social and recreational skills as well as ensuring his/her full involvement in the local community, and, as applicable, facilitate his/her access to appropriate health care. The ISP provides direct, active, and constructive interactions with individuals in collaboration with individual caregivers, AFC clinical staff, community members, and families.

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree or additional education in the field (s) of psychology, social work, nursing, or special education preferred.1 year of direct care, CNA, or human services experience preferred. DSP-2s are typically assigned to residential homes involving more complex and difficult cases including, but not limited to, medically frail or elderly residents, individuals with acquired brain injury, individuals with developmental or intellectual disability, or individuals with other related clinical or behavioral diagnoses.

We are looking for a compassionate caregiver family or a couple in Mid-Cape area, to share a home and life with an active middle aged man with a disability. Candidates must undergo background check, have a spare room at ground level in their home, reliable vehicle and make a difference in other persons life.
