ADMINISTRATION

Development Officer

Full Time 40 Hours

Founded in 1968, Cape Abilities has a distinguished history of providing services and support to individuals with disabilities. Cape Abilities, Inc. seeks a Development Officer, a newly-created, full-time position that will work closely with the Director of Development and President & Chief Executive Officer to successfully implement Cape Abilities’ fundraising, donor cultivation and stewardship program. The Development Officer will be expected to cultivate and manage relationships with existing donors at various levels of giving, as well as identifying new prospects. The candidate will possess proven fundraising experience, a thorough knowledge of gift options and an ability to clearly communicate the mission of Cape Abilities. S/he will be expected to persuade prospects and persevere to the close of the gift and beyond.

Bachelor’s Degree. Manage all aspects of Vocational Services and Community Based Day Supports to maximize the independence and employability of individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

Master’s degree in any subject and five (5) years of professional experience in counseling, job placement, Vocational evaluation or rehabilitation OR Bachelor’s degree in related field with equivalent work experience. Minimum five (5) years’ prior experience working with adults with disabilities including conducting assessments, performing community outreach and managing job placements. Events Manager

Full Time 40 Hours

Cape Abilities seeks a highly motivated and experienced professional as its Event Manager. The Events Manager will be responsible for project management oversight, the planning, operations and execution for all agency events including fundraising, cultivation, stewardship, administration and third party events, from initial conception to successful completion. The Events Manager, will work collaboratively with the CEO, Development Director and other members of the Development Team, Cape Abilities staff and Board of Directors, to ensure that all events meet the agency’s goals.

Direct Support Professional (Individual Supports) – Hyannis

Part Time $15 per hour

The Individual Supports Professional provides instruction, support, and serves as a positive role model to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, acquired brain injury or other unique challenges. ISPs are expected to facilitate the development of the individual program participant’s independent living, social and recreational skills as well as ensuring his/her full involvement in the local community, and, as applicable, facilitate his/her access to appropriate health care. The ISP provides direct, active, and constructive interactions with individuals in collaboration with individual caregivers, AFC clinical staff, community members, and families.

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree or additional education in the field (s) of psychology, social work, nursing, or special education preferred.1 year of direct care, CNA, or human services experience preferred. Ability and willingness to provide hands-on personal care. Must be able to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form with coworkers and supported individuals and read fluently. Caregiver – Mid Cape Area 

We are looking for a compassionate caregiver family or a couple in Mid-Cape area, to share a home and life with an active middle aged man with a disability. Candidates must undergo background check, have a spare room at ground level in their home, reliable vehicle and make a difference in other persons life. Caregivers will be provided with administrative support and training with a generous tax free stipend.

Individual Support Case Manager – Mid Cape Area 

36 Hours per week

Provides instruction, supports and positive role modeling to individuals with varying developmental disabilities and/or acquired brain injury living in their own homes. Encourages the development of life, social, and recreational skills, as well as, community access and healthcare. Provides direct, active and constructive interactions with individuals in cooperation with staff, team members, clinical consultants, community members, families and managers. 

Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Education in psychology, social work, special education, or other related field preferred. Prior human services or relevant life experience preferred of at least 2 years. Valid driver’s license in the state of Massachusetts. Successful completion of all state and Agency mandated trainings. Successful completion of Medication Administration Training certification.

Residential LPN- Sandwich 

40 Hours per week – 8:00am – 4:00pm Monday – Friday

Provides episodic nursing care and assistance with other residential tasks, as needed. Consults with residential staff regarding health issues of individuals in accordance with the Department of Developmental Services (DDS), Medication Administration Program (MAP) and Agency policies. Provides direct oversight and training of staff on shift in meeting individual needs. 

Licensed Practical Nurse (L.P.N.). Obtains and maintains MAP Certification. Minimum 2 years prior experience in community health nursing, visiting nursing and/or nursing specific to individuals with unique developmental or traumatic brain injury challenges. Valid driver’s license in the state of Massachusetts. Successful completion of all state and Agency mandated trainings. Ability to provide hands-on personal care.

Quality And Performance Specialist – Hyannis

The Quality and Performance Specialist will focus on processes and systems related to all aspects of service quality and effectiveness as well as program compliance with federal and state, regulatory, and contractual requirements. The Quality and Performance Specialist works closely with managers, clinical team, and Residential Program Director, to assure accountability and effective monitoring of systems that promote excellence in service delivery. As the Quality and Performance Specialist, your responsibilities would include continuous and comprehensive spot checks of all residential sites as assigned. The Quality and Performance Specialist will help ensure the principles of PBS are the foundation of our service delivery.

Bachelor’s degree required Minimum of three years of experience with quality assurance and compliance, and 3 years supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, brain injuries or other unique challenges.Must be self-driven in a team setting.Ability to work successfully, both independently and in a team environment Experience with reading and understanding policies and regulations.Possesses high level computer skills, especially with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.Proficient in identifying, collecting, maintaining, and tracking information.Ability and willingness to provide hands-on personal care.Strong organizational skills.Must be able to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form.Valid driver’s license in the state of Massachusetts required.Successful completion of all state and Agency mandated trainings required upon hire.Successful completion of Medication Administration Program certification.Deep Knowledge of DDS regulations, including Licensing, Survey and Certification processes.Knowledge of HCSIS, including data entry.
