 Assistant Residential Program Director

The Assistant Residential Program Director is responsible for the successful daily operations of our comprehensive Residential Supports creating a safe and therapeutic environment for the people served. The Assistant Program Director will focus on coordinating the onboarding and supervision of a Residential Management Team as well as a DSP team.

As a member of the nursing and care management team, provides social work services that facilitate the screening of new family homes and participants; assists in matching and placement services to participants.

Bachelor’s degree. Social worker license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Social Work. Minimum 2 years prior experience working with elderly or disabled adults. Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years clinical experience in the care of elderly or disabled individuals may be substituted for the above requirements. Attention to detail. Residential LPN- Sandwich 

40 Hours per week – 8:00am – 4:00pm Monday – Friday

Provides episodic nursing care and assistance with other residential tasks, as needed. Consults with residential staff regarding health issues of individuals in accordance with the Department of Developmental Services (DDS), Medication Administration Program (MAP) and Agency policies. Provides direct oversight and training of staff on shift in meeting individual needs. 

Licensed Practical Nurse (L.P.N.). Obtains and maintains MAP Certification. Minimum 2 years prior experience in community health nursing, visiting nursing and/or nursing specific to individuals with unique developmental or traumatic brain injury challenges. The Thrift Truck Driver picks up donations at donors’ locations, and delivers purchases to customers. The Thrift Truck Driver also helps process drop-off donations, helps load customer vehicles, and provides top-class customer service.

Growing Futures Program Manager – Dennis

Full Time 40 hours   

Cape Abilities seeks to hire a Growing Futures Program Manager (GFPM) in its efforts to launch the Growing Futures Training Program: a structured employment training program for individuals with disabilities that is designed to build the core competencies and skills needed to enter employment in the local green industry, such as garden retailers, golf courses, and landscape companies. The Growing Futures Training Program will also provide job placement and ongoing workplace support for program graduates and employers to ensure success.

The GFPM is responsible for the development, preparation, day-to-day program operations and overall implementation of the Growing Futures Training Program at Cape Abilities Farm. The GFPM will closely collaborate with the Cape Abilities Farm Director, the Director of Vocational Services and other key stakeholders to ensure effective, efficient and coordinated service delivery and program management. The GFPM will also develop relations with prospective employers to recruit, train, and place program participants in community employment. 

Bachelor’s degree and minimum 3 years prior horticulture, landscape, or garden retail experience. Experience working with people with disabilities preferred. Experience developing and implementing educational and/or vocational based programs. Ability to teach and model occupational and vocational tasks. Ability to demonstrate and maintain an enthusiastic attitude. Ability to write clear and objective goals and documentation. Valid driver’s license in the state of Massachusetts. Basic knowledge of computer software applications including word processing and spreadsheet software.

The Garden Center Manager (GCM), in conjunction with the Cape Abilities Farm Director oversees the daily operations of the Cape Abilities Farm Garden Center, including managing sales associates, volunteers and program participants, and assisting with the purchase and sale of garden center inventory. The GCM will ensure efficient, effective department management and top-class customer experience.

High school diploma required.  Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum 3 years prior retail, farm market, landscape, grocery and/or garden center purchasing experience preferred. Basic knowledge of computer software applications including word processing and spreadsheet software. Ability to work weekends during peak growing and retail seasons. Willingness to work outside in any weather condition.
