New Take on Green Tomatoes

Inverted BLT-page0001A number of excellent Cape restaurants feature Cape Abilities Farm produce on their menus, and our award-winning tomatoes are a particular favorite. One local chef, however, likes our green tomatoes as much as the sweet red ones.

Chef Gary Weston of Diamond in the Rough restaurant, in King’s Way just off Route 6A in Yarmouth Port, is a devoted customer at our farm. He brings a southern twist to New England cooking at Diamond in the Rough, which he opened this spring. When he began buying lots of our green tomatoes, Farm Manager James Barnes decided to pay him a visit, and got a lesson in how to make an “Inverted BLT” using tempura-fried green tomatoes.
