Cape Abilities is excited to partner with the Rotary Club of Hyannis to initiate a new Therapeutic horticulture program at Cape Abilities’ Lyndon Center in Hyannis.
The design and construction of two wheelchair accessible raised gardening beds by members of the Hyannis Rotary Club will provide safe gardening access for many of our participants!

Horticulture Therapy has proven to be a positive component of habilitation programs, and provides a learning experience and enjoyment for individuals who may not be able to access traditional gardens because of mobility and other physical and cognitive challenges.  Benefits include stress reduction, building self-esteem, and sensory stimulation.  Once the raised beds are constructed, the horticultural staff from Cape Abilities Farm will advise and consult on plant selection, cultivation and maintenance so that we can ensure a positive experience for our participants and a productive garden!

From your friends at Cape Abilities,
THANK YOU, Rotary Club of Hyannis!
