Cape Abilities Update: Day Program Re-Opening 2020

Filed in Blog by on July 13, 2020

We are exited to announce that
Cape Abilities day program centers
in Falmouth, Hyannis, and Eastham
are re-opened!

After months of dedicated planning in working collaboration with local and state agencies, this is a reduced capacity re-open of our Day Habilitation, Employment and Community Based Day Supports (CBDS) programs, as the health, safety and well-being of all participants and staff remains our top priority.

We have re-opened at reduced capacity so that we can assure maximum participant safety aligns our day program guidelines and protocols with the most up-to-date guidelines and information for physical distancing as directed from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Centers for Disease Controls and state and local agencies and officials. This has allowed us to welcome back 19 of 100 (19%) of our participants in Lyndon Day Hab, 6 of 42 (14%) of our participants in Cochran Day Hab, 5 of 14 (36%) of our participants in Falmouth CBDS and 15 of 41 (37%) of our participants in Hyannis CBDS.

***For those returning to program at the Lyndon Center, please use the rear entrance to access and enter the building.***

We want to provide you with these guidelines and protocols, so you can review them closely in advance of making any decisions about your loved one returning to a program center.

For questions regarding these guidelines, please contact Kathleen White or Michele Savini

Re-opening day program centers at limited capacity creates unique needs for many of the individuals, families, and care givers we serve
and it is upon us to adapt and evolve our programming to meet that need. To that end, we have just received approval from the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority and the state office of Human Services Transportation to resume transportation operations for our participants on Wednesday, August 5, 2020.  Those who will be affected by this state-directive have been contacted by us by phone.

For questions regarding our Re-opening or Transportation Operations, please contact Leah LaCross at
For Day Habilitation specific questions, please contact Josephine Fennell at
For CBDS or Vocational specific questions, please contact Jamie Crowell at
